Location: Orton Southgate, PeterboroughSalary: Circa £40,000 + BenefitsIndustry: Engineering / Fabrication / Mechanical BuildAre you an experienced workshop professional with a background in welding, fabrication, or mechanical assembly Do you have the leadership skills to supervise a team of 5-6 skilled technicians in a bespoke manufacturing environmentIf so, this could be the perfect role for youThe Role:As Workshop Supervisor, you’ll be leading a small team in the hands-on production of bespoke mechanical builds. You’ll oversee projects from disassembly through to final reassembly, ensuring quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Some client communication will be required, as well as occasional on-site installation supervision.Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate a team of 5-6 workshop staffOversee bespoke mechanical builds, ensuring high standards are metWork closely with engineers and technicians to deliver high-spec projectsProvide hands-on support welding, fabrication, mechanical fittingCommunicate with clients regarding project requirements and updatesEnsure health & safety compliance within the workshopManage resources to meet project deadlinesCoordinate logistics, including transportation, supplier relationships, and project documentation
What We’re Looking For:
Background in welding, fabrication, mechanical assembly, or similarSupervisory experience – leading a small team in a workshop environmentStrong communication skills – ability to liaise with clients and suppliersProblem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detailWillingness to travel for occasional on-site project workWhat’s in it for You
