Reporting to the Deputy Lead Midwife – ODNs the postholder will provide professional midwifery expertise for the West Midlands Perinatal Network to ensure the provision of safe, effective and high-quality care for women and infants. The role will focus specifically on networking of Fetal Medicine and Placenta Accreta Spectrum (PAS) services across the West Midlands, ensuring that women in the region are able to access the

right level of care, in the right place at the right time in their maternity journey.

The postholder will provide clinical expertise as part of developing this new network area and support the overall work programme of the network, together with building, managing and maintaining strong and collaborative working relationships with all the key stakeholders across the networks and their member organisations.

Main duties of the job

To review referral data received from all Trusts within the Network and identify themes that can be used to influence decision making for education and training activities.

To support the delivery of appropriate training and education to clinicians/medical practitioners in relation to the gaps and needs in service identified across the region.

To support the maintenance of up-to-date information on the workplans.

To maintain database information ensuring it is up to date and relevant.

To ensure that fetal medicine and placenta accreta spectrum related midwifery practice is in keeping with current research by assisting in the development of an evidence-based culture and implementation of research and evidence-based protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife BSc or equivalent degree
• Evidence of professional progression
• NMC Midwife registration
