A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Southwark is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their dedicated SEND department, working under the direct guidance of the SENCO.
  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN and SEMH needs, ensuring they are fully included in the classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and SEND team to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist students in mainstream classes and during targeted interventions, supporting both academic and emotional development.
  • Implement and monitor Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Proven experience supporting students with SEN and SEMH, ideally within a mainstream secondary school setting.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • A proactive and empathetic approach to understanding and meeting the individual needs of students.
  • Knowledge of SEND strategies and techniques that encourage both academic and personal growth.
  • Be part of a dedicated SEND department within a school committed to inclusivity and the well-being of all students.
  • Work closely with a supportive SENCO, with ample opportunities for professional development and career progression.
  • Enjoy a long-term, full-time role within a collaborative and welcoming school community.
