About The Future Forest Company

At The Future Forest Company, we’re on a mission to make a real impact in the fight against climate change. By removing excess CO2 from the atmosphere and restoring vital ecosystems, we aim to enhance biodiversity, mitigate the effects of climate change and ultimately help nature thrive.

Our profit-for-purpose model allows us to scale nature-based solutions, including woodland creation, peatland restoration, and developing innovative biodiversity projects. When you join our team, you’ll be part of a company dedicated to making a tangible difference, with a goal of planting millions of trees and restoring thousands of hectares of land.

The Role

We’re looking for a proactive, self-starting Business Development Associate to drive growth and build meaningful relationships with UK and international businesses in this full-time role. Your role will be crucial in helping organisations integrate biodiversity, habitat restoration, and carbon products into their sustainability strategies.

You will take ownership of the sales process, from identifying prospects and understanding their sustainability goals, to delivering bespoke solutions that align with their ESG, carbon mitigation, and biodiversity strategies. You’ll report to the Partnerships Manager and play a vital role in scaling our operations and contributing to a healthier planet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new growth opportunities, including corporate sponsorships for land restoration and carbon units.
  • Generate leads, attract new customers, and grow our client base by engaging businesses in the environmental sector.
  • Analyse target sectors to pinpoint development opportunities for the Partnerships team.
  • Conduct virtual and in-person meetings with potential clients to understand their needs and present tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including operations and marketing, to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including raising invoices, managing sales pipelines in CRM (e.g. Pipedrive), and tracking project inventory.

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

This role is best suited to someone who is more than just a sales professional — we want someone genuinely passionate about fighting climate change and protecting nature. The ideal candidate will be driven by the chance to make a real-world impact while excelling in a sales-driven environment.

You’ll need to be a proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative remote-working environment.

Requirements
  • Sales Savvy: Confidence and experience in navigating the sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals.
  • Proactive Mindset: Ability to independently identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to build and manage relationships with UK and international businesses.
  • Collaborative Spirit: We’re a team-driven company, and you’ll work closely with others to achieve shared goals.
  • Organisational Skills: Comfortable managing backend administrative tasks, including invoicing and CRM updates.
  • Passion for the Planet: A strong interest in sustainability, conservation, and climate action, with a willingness to learn and grow in the environmental space.
  • UK based: We are a remote first company, however any applicants must be based in the UK (not necessarily Scotland), with the ability to travel to our sites and to events.

Benefits and Remuneration

Salary between £22k and £30k, depending on experience.

Regular team-building days and company offsites in our sites in Scotland

An industry-leading pension scheme.

The opportunity to be part of an organisation that’s at the forefront of the global fight against climate change and biodiversity loss.
