Working within an MSP environment the Solution Architect is responsible for the full end to end delivery of large-scale LAN and Wireless LAN infrastructure projects. It will have excellent problem-solving skills and a thorough knowledge of Network Principles across Routing, Switching and Wireless Technologies.
The role will involve working closely with the Project Management Office throughout the lifecycle of the delivery including the creation of low-level design documentation, installation, and deployment through to handing over the solution to post install support teams.

It will include presales responsibility to define the overall technical design, bill of materials and project day count.

This role will act as the technical design authority for the complete solution to ensure project governance in delivery against the HLD and sold elements. You should also have experience with Network Management Platforms, working with ITSM systems and a good understanding of ITIL best practice.

It will also include providing support to customers and engineers.

Requirements
  • Provide presales support to complete RFI’s and RFP’s during tender process
  • Provide presales support with the creation of high-level design across (LAN, WLAN, WAN, SDLAN, SDWAN)
  • Creation of low level design documentation across all aspects of the technical solution
  • Creation of technical project plans, including task-based activities and timescales
  • Production of bill of materials and licensing to support customer designs
  • Providing consultancy day fulfilment and professional service day estimates
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of the manufacturer’s current and emerging product portfolio
  • Pre-staging and testing equipment for project roll out activities
  • Project support and installation
  • Supporting and maintaining new networking hardware and software infrastructure, including Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless LAN, Uninterrupted Power supply (UPS), Cabling
  • Advanced performance monitoring using Network Management Tools
  • Creation of post installation support documentation (Hand over to support)
  • Working on customer sites where required
  • Perform wireless surveys using industry leading tools
  • Mentoring other members of the team in all aspects of the networking product portfolio
  • Assist in development of internal documentation and processes in best practice methodology
  • Point of contact for supplier technical support and product developers for field trials, new products and escalations
