Job overview

To be part of the Facilities team ensuring cleanliness of the unit and the four wards at Langley Green Hospital in Crawley, West Sussex.

To ensure the catering element is delivered daily to each ward

To support with improving standards by dealing with waste issues, pest control and laundry requirements for the unit

To Deep clean ward areas and ensure we meet standards of cleanliness.

To follow Safer Food Better Business practices ensuring compliancy around temperature taking of fridges and freezers.

To report any defects to line management.

Main duties of the job

Ensure standards of cleanliness are maintained and improved to cover the ward/unit area worked in.

To be fully compliant with food standards when delivering the meal service to the wards.

To work alongside Clinical staff making sure the environment is kept to a high standard and improving the lives of Service Users.

To work closely with the Facilities Supervisor ensuring compliancy is maintained, schedules are filed out and checks around food delivery and service are met.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will be required to work as part of the Facilities cleaning and catering team meeting the NHS National Specifications for
Cleanliness, and Environmental Health standards.
They will be responsible for cleaning all clinical/non clinical areas along with providing a quality food service to patients.
Duties include cleaning all kitchen areas, washing up, regenerating prepared meals, and cold food preparation. Assisting with the compliance of
food safety policies, NHS cleaning procedures and current legislation.

Previous experience would be an advantage, however full training will be provided.
