Rotational Community Occupational Therapist | Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust

apartmentHounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust placeRichmond calendar_month

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a 12 month rotation across two experienced and dynamic multidisciplinary community teams which are both in Richmond.

You would be based initially at Richmond Rehabilitation Unit working for the Community Neuro Rehabilitation Team (CNRT), and then at Teddington Memorial Hospital working for the Richmond Response and Rehabilitation Team (RRRT).

You would be seeing outpatients as well as home visits. The post is a 12 month fixed term / secondment with the possibility to extend.

Ideally you would have experience working with neurological conditions, but we would consider an experienced Band 6 or Band 5 OT looking to develop new skills and additional support would be given for the right applicant.

You will join enthusiastic teams of experienced OTs providing comprehensive multi-disciplinary rehabilitation programmes to neurologically impaired adults and frail elderly patients in Richmond.

The trust offers excellent opportunities for continuing professional development, and is committed to clinical excellence and audit.

CAR OWNER/ DRIVER is recommended. A competent cyclist would be considered.
  • To perform skilled Occupational Therapy assessment of patients with neurological conditions, including complex physical and psychological conditions
  • To provide evidence based treatment programmes, guided by patient orientated goal setting whilst liaising with the multidisciplinary team
  • To deliver and progress these individualised treatment programmes and provide advice to carers paid and unpaid.
  • To provide a high standard Occupational Therapy service, which involves working autonomously and as part of the multidisciplinary team within the community and out-patient settings.
  • To provide rapid support for patients discharged from acute services to ensure safe and effective transition to the community

From the autumn, HRCH community services for Hounslow will be provided by West London NHS Trust. HRCH will continue to provide community services in the borough of Richmond.

HRCH is a great place to work, and we're committed to staff development, so if you're interested in joining our team, we encourage you to apply.

Please refer to the full Job Descriptions relating to both teams and the Person Specification attached
