Senior Business Analyst

Overview:

To engage a variety of business stakeholders to understand their current business process and use of technology. To distil this information into a set of key prioritised feature requirements and value adding processes. Acting as a bridge between strategic business vision and operational execution, ensuring initiatives are informed, cohesive, and beneficial.

In this role, you will use a variety of elicitation, communication, and analysis techniques to gain a strong relationship with the stakeholders and achieve sign-off of the to-be model based on business need and priority.

Responsibilities:

Analysis:

  • Analyse and design end-to-end to-be business processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve employee satisfaction.
  • Facilitate discussions with key stakeholders to gather requirements and drive consensus on business initiatives and map this to existing technology and tool support highlighting gaps and opportunities
  • Analysis of data and how it is used by the stakeholders.
  • Create a backlog or prioritised requirements from which to develop and test against
  • Setting a shared vision and objectives and presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Identify the scope, scale, impact of initiatives and define success criteria.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, offering insights and solutions to complex challenges.
  • Partner with architecture and security teams to ensure business and technology are aligned.

Delivery:

  • Integrate change management practices into project management frameworks
  • Work closely with project teams to align change activities with project milestones and timelines.
  • Lead change management initiatives to ensure effective communication and training of stakeholders on new systems, applications, tools, products, and processes.
  • Ensure testing plans are developed, scheduled and can be delivered
  • Develop and implement effective communication and training plans to ensure successful adoption of new systems, applications, tools, products, and processes.
  • Define success metrics and track change progress to ensure measurable outcomes.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and benefits cases to measure the success of initiatives.

Competencies:

  1. End to end software development lifecycle experience in small to medium companies
  2. Business process mapping (As-Is and To-Be)
  3. Business process improvements
  4. Business Analysis and requirements prioritisation techniques
  5. Use of various elicitation techniques
  6. Communications and stakeholder management
  7. Proven experience of system replacement projects where continuity of service is critical.
  8. Familiarity with basic testing principles
  9. Basic working knowledge of variety of business applications and how they work to support an organisation.
  10. Understanding/qualifications in formal business Analysis practices / qualifications
  11. Knowledge and understanding of Business Process Mapping and Value chains
  12. Use of AI to digitise processes desirable

Qualifications:

  • An excellent troubleshooting mentality with the ability to visualise a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.
  • Articulate in both verbal and written communication (to both technical and non-technical audiences), including the ability to produce clear documentation.
  • Flexible with the ability to change priorities quickly and the capacity to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Experience in change management, with a strong track record of leading effective change, communication and training programs
  • Ability to inspire and guide teams through uncertainty.
  • Clear and empathetic communication with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving.
  • Ability to assess impacts and identify potential risks and resistance points.
  • Demonstrated ability in working effectively with cross-functional teams and departments.
  • Flexibility, adaptability to account for shifting priorities and challenges
