Senior Management Accountant

DWF are currently recruiting for a Senior Management Accountant to join the Finance team on a hybrid basis at our Manchester office.
As a Senior Management Accountant you will work within the Financial Control team to support the month end process, while also developing and implementing key new processes relating to existing work and future M&A.
We are looking for an individual who has a passion for efficiency and continual improvement, willing to take the lead on the creation of ideas and turn them into functional, detailed processes.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing Group Management Accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for queries within the finance teams.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations, month-end processes, and project tasks performed by the Management Accounts team.
- Lead the identification and transformation of Management and Financial Accounts processes, ensuring adherence to accounting standards.
- Standardize processes to ensure compliance with both standards and business requirements.
- Participate in the onboarding and integration of Management Accounts for new acquisitions.
- Encourage the wider team to enhance existing processes, such as analysis files and balance sheet reconciliations, to improve efficiency and provide higher value outputs for senior management.
- Conduct complex ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis, offering valuable insights to support senior management decision-making.
- Assist the Financial Accounts team during group audits and the production of statutory accounts.
- Line manage and mentor team members, providing guidance and support.
- Perform additional duties as required during month-end to ensure the timely production of Group Accounts with minimal disruption.
What will help you succeed in this role? :
Essential- Previous experience in a similar role within Industry
- Holder of a recognised professional accounting qualification or significant experience in a similar role (e.g ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CA)
- Extensive knowledge and experience in various accounting processes across financial statements.
- Proven record of accomplishment of fostering a culture of continuous improvement and challenging existing processes and methodologies
- Exceptional skills in Excel, analytics, and communication.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume, transactional environment with the creativity to enhance processes.
- High attention to detail with a strong emphasis on quality of work.
- Proficiency in process mapping and implementation.
- People management experience is desirable but not essential.
