Translation Project Manager (Russian Speaking)

We’re looking for a talented Translation Project Manager to join our rapidly expanding team. In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for managing client projects from start to finish — from initial quoting through to final delivery. You will also play an essential role in helping to manage our network of freelancers.
This role is integral to the day-to-day operation of our language services, working closely with Client Account Managers and our team of expert in-house and freelance translators. Russian language skills are a must, as you’ll be liaising with our Russian-speaking clients.
Our translation team has been growing at an incredible pace, with a 47% increase in headcount over the last 12 months. The role:
- Full time (37.5 hours), hybrid working with a rota system that requires some weekend working
- Salary: £23,400 - £27,000 (dependent on experience)
- Project management
- Pre-processing source texts and producing word count analysis in memoQ
- Creating quotes with cost, turnaround time, and workflow specifications
- Assessing source texts for any issues and seeking clarification with the account manager, or directly with the client, where necessary
- Recording project details on tracking sheets and updating them as required
- Creating project plans for efficient delivery within set deadlines, taking into account available resources, monitoring project status and mitigating risks
- Selecting translators by taking into account specialisms, skills, and rates
- Answering queries from translators, and completing research when needed to be able to do so effectively
- Completing quality assurance checks, addressing any issues with the translator
- Checking final content against client specifications
- Managing translation memories and term bases
- Translation/proofreading
- Occasional translation/proofreading of content
- Occasional LQA of sample translations for prospective translators
- In cases of disagreement between two translators, reviewing both perspectives and determining a resolution
- Providing guidance on your target language and culture to other team members or clients
- Freelance translator management
- Reconciling proofreader's feedback in the deliverable with the translator to resolve any suggested changes and/or comments
- Recording feedback on relevant boards
- Flagging resource gaps to Client Account Managers
Requirements:
- Russian and English language skills
- Time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines

- Working knowledge of Excel
Desirable skills but not essential:
- Familiar with CAT tools including memoQ and other translation/localisation software
- Knowledge of the language service industry and SEO
