Senior Theatre Practitioner - Day Surgery | East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible senior nurse or operating department practitioner with in-depth day surgery theatre experience, to join the team in the busy day surgery unit at Colchester Hospital.
Elmstead Day Surgery Unit is a 32 bedded day surgery ward adjacent to 5 operating theatres. We are a busy day unit focussing on a variety of specialities including but not limit to: ENT, oral surgery, plastics, urology, orthopaedics, gynaecology and general surgery.
In this role you will be integral to the effectiveness of a busy department and this role provides an excellent opportunity for motivated and skilled individuals to play a fundamental role in caring for a patient undergoing a surgical procedure in the Colchester Hospital.You will support in providing professional and clinical leadership in the delivery of high quality, safe, cost effective care to patients and their families.
As a Senior Theatre Practitioner you will be attached to specific clinical specialities across the Day Unit Theatres. In this post you will support the management of speciality based day unit operating. You will provide expert knowledge and skills pertaining to the theatre specialty.You will, subject to individual competence, support other theatre suites within the hospital, based within the Colchester Theatres. Whilst you will have a designated area of focussed responsibility, you will be expected to manage and provide support to daily service delivery within each Theatre suite, supported by and reporting to the Unit Lead’s.
