Job Description

Based at: Employer’s own home in Elmswell, Suffolk. And out in the local community.

Job Purpose

The child is a real character, funny and fairly strong willed.

Main duties:

• Personal care e.g. washing, toileting..
• Constant supervision is required at all times.
• Support with all safety aspects.
• To be a social friendly companion to the child
• To support with sensory play, baking and other activites at when at home, you will be required to keep her entertained in the home.
• To build a supportive relationship and take part in activities which the child enjoys e.g. swimming / pony walks.
• Support the child on days out.
• To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.

• Flexible in the hours and times that you can work.
• Have a good sense of humour and enjoy a friendly joke.
• Be patient and supportive.
• Be friendly and outgoing.
• Be honest, reliable and trustworthy.
• Be respectful of the employer’s dignity, at all times.
• Understand the need for privacy and confidentiality.
• You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety.
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• A willingness to undergo any training highlighted by the employer.
• You should have some knowledge and understanding of risks.
• Experience of caring for children with special needs is essential
• Hold a clean driving licence
