About Our Client

Pen Heaven is a leading online retailer of personalised pens, leather accessories and stationery gifts. We have a market leading position in the UK, with a significant and growing presence abroad (predominantly USA, Canada, Australia).

Job Description

Duties:

  • Ensure all accounting records are accurate and kept up to date including;
  • Bank reconciliations with online payment gateways
  • Credit card statements
  • Journal entries for any required adjustments e.g. credit notes, refunds, rebates
  • End of month supplier payrun, including reconciliation of supplier statements and invoices
  • Payroll
  • Aged creditors report, and follow up on overdue amounts
  • Monthly management accounts, including reports on channel performance, to be communicated to managing director
  • Bi-weekly low margin report on a sku by sku basis
  • Prepare quarterly VAT return
  • Work with external accountants to prepare year end accounts and tax returns
  • Work with accounting software developers to ensure accuracy and completeness of records

The Successful Applicant

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience
  • Responsibility for overall bookkeeping function for minimum of 2 years
  • Highly experienced with accounting software systems
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of sales ledger, purchase ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable

Preferrable Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Navision
  • Understanding of online retail operations

What's on Offer

The candidate will have a flexible work-life balance working a hybrid role an between 20-25 hours / week.The salary on offer is £24,000.
