Residential Youth Worker

We are seeking a friendly and compassionate individual to join our team as a youth support worker working with children between the ages of 7 and 17. In this role, you will provide support and assistance to young individuals, helping them navigate through challenges and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support and mentorship to young individuals.
  • Assist in daily living activities and teach essential life skills.
  • Advocate for youth and collaborate with other professionals, such as educators and social workers.
  • Help youth enhance their self-confidence and resilience through various activities and programs.
  • Monitor and document the progress and challenges of youth, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Appropriately dealing with challenging behaviours
  • Encouraging independence
Requirements
  • Strong empathy and a genuine passion for working with youth.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build trust with young individuals.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the evolving needs of youth.

You must be 21 and over to work in children's residential homes.
Ofsted outlines that all staff working with adults and young people within residential care home settings must be 4 years older than the oldest child residing in the home.
