Band 7 Paediatric Physiotherapist
Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic physiotherapist to join our paediatric physiotherapy team at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This role will provide opportunities to consolidate and further develop knowledge, skills and experience in paediatrics in the orthopaedic and musculoskeletal field, with scope for further service and personal development.
You will be well supported by 2 B8a Paediatric Orthopaedic APP and Senior Paediatric MSK Physiotherapists, as well as working with close access and support from our Paediatricians & MDT colleagues in our Children’s Outpatient Department.
The clinical caseload will be younger children under 8, both Consultant and GP referrals, for assessment and monitoring of a variety of conditions, including normal variants, joint laxity/ hypermobility, Erb’s palsy, torticollis, idiopathic tiptoe walking, and mild developmental delay, as well as older children, up to the age of 16, with common orthopaedic and MSK conditions in our Physiotherapy department.There is no Neurodisability caseload. Your role would also play a part in managing the MSK physiotherapy outpatient service; supervising and teaching junior & student physiotherapists during their Paediatric MSK rotations.

Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities/outcomes
To carry out complex assessments and treatments of paediatric musculoskeletal conditions daily, using highly developed dexterity, coordination and palpatory sensory skills. This includes continuing risk assessment, manual therapy techniques and therapeutic handling requiring moderate but variable physical effort during sessions lasting from 10 minutes to 60 minutes per patient.
