Primary Teacher - P6/7 - fixed term until 19/12/2025Tollcross Primary School
Salary: £33,594 - £50,589Hours: 35 per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Tollcross Primary School, for an enthusiastic class teacher to join our team on a Fixed Term Contract to cover a secondment until December 2025.
Tollcross Primary School is situated in the South East of the city and part of the James Gillespie’s High School learning community. The school is divided into 9 classes from P1 to P7. Our staff team are exceptionally dedicated and enthusiastic comprising 9 class teachers, 6 Pupil Supports Assistants, and a Pupil Support Officer.Our Leadership Team includes a Head Teacher, 1 DHT and 1 Principal Teacher. Our school is very well supported by an active Parent Council and supportive school community.
We pride ourselves on our very positive and nurturing ethos and our approach to inclusion. In Session 2024-25 our Improvement Plan is focussed on 3 key areas:
- Developing a Culturally Inclusive Curriculum
- Learning, Teaching and Assessment
- Digital Learning
Staff are keen to embrace the debate around equity and closing the gap and we are building long-term sustainable supports to meet the needs of our pupils. We are keen to have high expectations for all and be as aspirational as possible, building resilience and working hard to remove barriers to learning.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
