We are seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant with expertise in trauma to join our team.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support to students with special needs, focusing on those who have experienced trauma.
• Assist the lead teacher in developing and implementing trauma-informed educational plans.
• Create a safe and nurturing classroom environment that promotes emotional and academic growth.
• Use therapeutic techniques to help students manage their emotions and behaviors.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
• Participate in professional development opportunities related to trauma and special education.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with children with special needs, particularly those who have experienced trauma.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and therapeutic techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Relevant qualifications in special education or a related field are preferred.
