We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health Officer specializing in Food and Health & Safety to join our team as a WCR 3. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, contributing to the overall wellbeing of the community.You will conduct inspections and assessments of various establishments, including restaurants, food processing plants, and public facilities, to ensure that they meet health standards. Your expertise will support the reduction of foodborne illnesses and promote safe food handling practices.
Additionally, you will engage with stakeholders, providing education and guidance on best practices in health and safety. Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of food establishments and public health facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.Investigate complaints and incidents related to food safety and health hazards.
Provide education and training to food handlers and business owners on safe food practices and hygiene.
Develop and implement programs to increase community awareness of food safety and health issues.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation of inspections, violations, and actions taken.
Collaborate with local health agencies and organizations to address public health concerns.
Monitor and enforce health and safety legislation relevant to food and environmental standards.
RequirementsBachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
Certification as an Environmental Health Officer or equivalent is preferred.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and public health policies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with the community.
Ability to analyze data and prepare comprehensive reports.
Proficiency in using inspection and assessment tools and technologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Hours Per Week: 36.00

Pay Per Hour: £31.00
