Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed, enthusiastic and motivated person to join the urology nursing team. The successful applicant will be part of a well-established multi-disciplinary team working closely with the Urology Consultants, junior doctors and other Nurse Specialists within the department.
This will be a training post for a band 5 registered nurse, with set competencies to achieve a band 6 Uro-Oncology Clinical Nurse over a set period of time. You will be expected to play an active part in supporting the quality of care delivered to benign and cancer patients through clinical practice, nurse led clinics, education, research and audit.
The post holder will therefore need some urological nursing experience, the multidisciplinary team will fully support
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work towards becoming an independent practitioner and with members of the multidisciplinary team, provide advice and support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals on urological conditions, across both secondary and primary care.
The post holder will contribute to the positive experience of patients and carers living with urological conditions by working with the multi-disciplinary team across the Trust.
The post holder will promote safe, competent and evidence - based practice, in line with national objectives and within the clinical governance framework.
