Locum Consultant Orthodontist
Job overview
Part-time 24 hours per week (6 PA's per week) - Fixed term for 23 months.
Applications are invited for a part time fixed term Locum Consultant Orthodontist. You will be based in the orthodontic department working alongside our existing Consultant Orthodontist and an experienced team of clinicians, nurses and administrative teams.
The post is to support our existing patient demand.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will participate in clinical duties, audit, directorate meetings and undertake administrative tasks.
The post holder will be encouraged to be involved in all aspects of departmental activities including teaching and research. There is no on-call commitment.

The successful candidates will be a capable Consultant Orthodontist.
The new appointees will be flexible, approachable and enthusiastic, possessing excellent communication skills and positive attitude.
The post will be based at the Royal Bolton Hospital
Person specification
Qualifications/Professional Registration
Essential criteria- Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent
- Entry on GDC Specialist Register for Orthodontics
- Intercollegiate Specialty Examination or equivalent or within 3 months of completion of Post-CCST training
- Masters Degree or equivalent in Orthodontics
Experience
Essential criteria- Clinical training & experience equivalent to gaining UK ISFE in Orthodontics
- Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems
- Ability to take full & independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
- Minimum 5 years supervised training in an appropriate SpR / Post-CCST
Skills
Essential criteria- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to advise on efficient & smooth running of the orthodontic service
- Ability to organise & manage outpatient priorities
- Disability and Equality awareness
- Familiar with IT system and their application
- Experience of audit management
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Enquiring, critical approach to work Caring attitude to patients
- Ability & willingness to work within the Trust & NHS performance framework & targets
- Extensive demonstrated abilities in the field of orthodontics
