Mechanical Design Engineer - Reading

Hours of work: 9-day working pattern:
5day week: Mon 8.25, Tues 8.25, Wed 8.25, Thur 8.25, Fri 8
4 day week: Mon 8.25, Tues 8.25, Wed 8.25, Thur 8.25, Fri 8
Role information:- Deliver mechanical engineering designs that address defined requirements, across the full engineering lifecycle, to a high standard.
- Ensure the design intent is maintained throughout the lifecycle, liaising with other discipline areas to ensure overall design intent is maintained.
- Ensure compliance with Company Assurance Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q) and statutory requirements.
- Ensure application of standards is proportionate and that engineering best practice is adopted.
- Elevate areas of concern to the relevant Principal Engineer.
- Deliver mechanical designs that meet safety and performance requirements.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislative documentation / standards associated with mechanical design engineering.
- ONC/OND Mechanical Engineering
- Working knowledge of legislation and standards applicable to mechanical engineering design.
- Competent in standard office software, and engineering tools and applications.
- Producing mechanical designs as part of a multi-discipline design team.
- Experience of working in a highly regulated environment (preferably nuclear and / or explosives).
