Job overview
We are seeking a Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapists with a passion for neuro rehabilitation to join the team at Northumberland Head Injuries Service (NHIS). NHIS is a specialist community neuro rehab service for patients with traumatic brain injury living in Northumberland.
The successful candidates will provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and rehabilitation for patients with complex neurological conditions. The successful candidate will provide rehabilitation to patients from across the County at base, in residential care environments or in the patients home .
The service has a robust supervision structure and the post holder will benefit from access to regular in service training to further develop their skills.
For this post you will need to be HCPC registered with a degree/diploma in Physiotherapy and have relevant experience in neuro rehabilitation.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the specialist assessment and management and physiotherapy service provision for service users who have a variety of complex physiotherapy needs, diverse presentations driving from having sustained a traumatic brain injury.
To manage and provide on-going specialist physiotherapy assessment andtreatment using evidence based practice.
The post holder will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered and that this maximises independence and promotes recovery and wellbeing
To facilitate and support the delivery of Physiotherapy Student Education within the clinical setting.
To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
To provide clinical supervision and leadership to staff as delegated by the team lead

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Recognised Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent.
- State registration with HCPC.
- Further relevant post qualifying training.
- Registered member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Relevant Physiotherapy Experience with evidence of neurology experience
- Experience of or awareness of MDT working
- Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, HCPC and CSP standards and other local and national initiatives
- Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience of providing Physiotherapy services.
- Awareness of equal opportunities legislation and policies
- Experience of collaborative working across agencies and professional disciplines.
- Member of ACPIN
Skills
Essential criteria- Experience of assessment and treatment of neurological conditions including brain injury
- Evidence of patient centred approach and knowledge of goal setting
- Awareness of the impact of behaviour and cognitive problems on rehabilitation
- Meets the mobility requirements of the post
- Evidence of post graduate neurology course
- Experience of student and Physiotherapy assistant supervision
- Experience of contributing to in-service training
- Knowledge of audit and research, and implications for service provision
