An exciting opportunity has arisen at Croydon Health Services (CHS) for a Band 5 – Senior Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician who is forward thinking; enthusiastic and motivated, to join our established, welcoming, friendly and experienced dedicated ward-based pharmacy medicines management team.

Applicants should hold:
- NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Services certificate or equivalent.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician
- Accredited Checking Qualification (ACPT) or near completion of the course.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of a pharmacy team that provides a high quality, patient focused medicine management service to the wards. and also work as part of a multidisciplinary team including doctors, nurses and liaising with colleagues in primary care.
You will be required to undertake a variety of tasks such as: Medication histories, tailored patient consultations. Supporting timely medicines reconciliation & medicines adherence assessments, support flow, social and community enablement. Support reduction in medication wastage & carbon footprint, reduction in number of missed, delayed & committed doses.
The post holder will also be given the opportunity to undertake the role and responsibilities of:
Lead Directorate Technician (LDT) within nominated directorate of work, supporting the training and development of a variety of pharmacy staff. Leading and contributing to regular service improvement projects. Actively involved in CIPS (Cost Improvement Programmes).Develop and deliver teaching on all aspects of medicines management to a wide range of healthcare professionals. Involvement in incident reporting and investigations. Be an advocate for and champion Pharmacy services within your nominated area of work
The post holder will also be expected to undertake the role of Line Manager and / or Practice Supervisor. Undertaking recruitment, induction, appraisal, attendance management, performance review & management, regular one to ones.

Education & Qualifications
Essential criteria- Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPHC
- Must hold, National Accredited Checking Qualification.
- Evidence of commitment to CPD and maintains an up to date CPD portfolio
- NVQ in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
- Qualified D32 / D33 or NVQ Assessor
- 4 years relevant pharmaceutical experience
- National Medicines Management Course or equivalent or evidence of competence
Experience
Essential criteria- Significant and proven post qualification experience in hospital pharmacy
- Proven experience of working as a Medicines Management Technician (minimum six months or more)
- Education and Training of Pharmacy Staff
- Supervision of Staff
- Dispensing experience including patient counselling
- Knowledge of JAC computer system
- Working in a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of CRS Millennium
- Conduct / being involved with quality improvement / audits
Knowledge and Understanding
Essential criteria- Good knowledge of clinical pharmacy and role of a medicines management technician.
- Developing, structuring and scheduling plans or relevant experience
- Good I.T and knowledge of pharmacy computer systems
- Good understanding of working effectively within a MDT team
- Knowledge of NVQ and accreditation systems
- Knowledge of regulations, legislations and GPhC standards of practice for pharmacy professionals
- Undertaken role of Practice Supervisor / Line Manager
Skills and Abilities
