Transport Manager

Our client, a leading organisation in the Distribution industry, is seeking an enthusiastic Transport Manager to join their vibrant team.
What You'll Do: As the Transport Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a busy transport department. You'll work closely with drivers, operations teams, and the customer quality team to maintain high standards of service and compliance. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing drivers and ensuring compliance with transport legislation and health & safety standards.
- Collaborating with the Transport Manager to support day-to-day logistics operations.
- Monitoring KPIs and striving for continuous improvement.
- Supporting accident investigations in line with the company's reporting process.
- Regularly checking for infringements and updating driver compliance records.
- Reporting on any accidents or incidents and fulfilling other duties as required.
- Occasional travel to other sites and engaging with key internal and external stakeholders.
What We're Looking For: To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A full UK Driving License.
- A detailed understanding of relevant legislation in transport and health & safety.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT applications.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in Transport Management.
Key Competencies: We are seeking a candidate with:
- Strong logistics experience.
- Excellent analytical, planning, and prioritisation skills.
- A flexible approach to working hours to meet operational needs. Standard workign hours 6.30am-3.00pm
