Child Support Worker

To support pupils with SEND and SEMH

To start as soon as possible

30 hours per week, term time only

Scale 5 Point 12-15 (£32,985 - £34,532 pro rata)

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference to children who have SEMH needs in a specialist provision based in an excellent mainstream primary school.

The post is to work as a key member of a small team in the Camden reintegration satellite in the first instance. This is a specialist provision for children who are struggling to succeed in mainstream schools due to their SEMH needs and is a short term placement for two terms.

You will be supported to provide intensive support to children so they can re-engage in learning and have a successful reintegration back into their mainstream school.

You will be based at Rhyl Community Primary School and will work closely with the satellite team as well as school staff, outside professionals and staff in Camden mainstream primary schools.

The successful candidate will have had experience of working with pupils with SEMH in a mainstream setting and experience of using effective strategies to support children to be successful in school. The role will require candidates to provide individual and small group support for children both in the satellite and in their mainstream school.

The recruitment pack and application form are downloadable from our school websites at www.rhylprim.camden.sch.uk under School Vacancies in the ‘School Info’ section and https://www.robsonhouse.org.uk under Working at Robson House in the ‘About Us’ section.

The satellite works very closely with both Rhyl and Robson House, a specialist provision for pupils with SEMH and at risk of exclusion.

If you would like to speak to us about the post, please telephone the school office at Rhyl on 0207 485 4899.

The closing date is Friday 21 March at 12pm and interviews will be held in on 28 March2025. Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a self-declaration form which will be provided by the school.

Candidates shortlisted for interview will be notified by telephone.

Rhyl Community Primary School & Robson House are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. In line with KCSIE 2024 and safer recruitment practices, the school will conduct an online search for all shortlisted candidates.

The online search is part of our safeguarding checks and the search is purely about a candidate’s suitability to work with children. All posts are subject to pre-employment checks, references will be sought and successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
