We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join an outstanding school in Potters Bar on a temporary-to-permanent basis starting in January. Role Overview
The successful candidate will teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for candidates with the right experience. You will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that foster students’ musical talents, creativity, and appreciation for music.The role will also include contributing to the development of the school’s music curriculum and extracurricular music activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Music to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
- Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with school policies and expectations
- Contribute to the development of the Music curriculum, as well as to the school’s performances, concerts, and other music events
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports students’ academic and personal growth
- Support extracurricular music activities, including school concerts, ensembles, and music clubs
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a degree in Music or a related subject. Experience teaching Music at KS3 and KS4 is essential, with KS5 experience seen as advantageous. The ideal candidate will be passionate about music and committed to inspiring students to achieve their potential.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in Music or a related discipline
- Experience teaching Music at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 teaching experience considered beneficial
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and engage students
