Job Description
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial option agreements, leases, and ancillary documents.
  • Carry out due diligence on all commercial property matters including reports on title, pre-contract
  • searches and enquiries, and to advise on mitigation for any title risks/defects identified.
  • Drafting and negotiating options for easement, deeds of easement, licences to assign, underleases, and licences to carry out alterations and land transfers.
  • Supporting our external counsel in the review and preparation of certifications of title relating to project acquisitions and disposals, and with our funder's solicitors in relation to certificates of title required for project finance.
  • Ability to lead and supervise the development of the trainees within the team.
  • Lead the property element of the legal team and support more junior members of the team.
  • Work closely with the business development team and support on all property related matters.
  • Ability to manage own workload with little supervision.
  • Accountable for all dealings with other lawyers and other legal aspects on all property transactions.
  • Assess risk on every transaction by using skills to make pragmatic decisions and to ensure appropriate legal advice is given.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Candidates will also need to be able to contribute to the larger business on legal matters,

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Legal Counsel - Property should have:

  • UK/IRE Qualified with a minimum 3+ years PQE
  • Experienced Commercial Property Solicitor
  • Extensive experience in dealing with all aspects of Commercial Property.
  • Good technical knowledge.
  • Experience within private practice or in-house.
  • You will have excellent commercial awareness skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and intermediaries.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage people, multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail with sound working knowledge of common MS Office packages.
  • Experience in the energy sector would be beneficial.
