Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Martin at New Formation is excited to partner with an Ofsted Outstanding mainstream school in Streatham, Lambeth, to find a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant ready to make a meaningful impact.

About the Role

In this rewarding position, you'll work within a mainstream school environment, supporting SEMH students who may also have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and present with challenging behaviours. You'll play a pivotal role in helping students build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting SEMH students in their academic and personal development.
  • Managing and positively influencing challenging behaviours.
  • Working closely with teachers and support staff in a collaborative, team-based setting.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience: A strong background in supporting students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and ASC/Autism is essential.
  • Team Player: A collaborative mindset and a passion for working as part of a supportive team.
  • Adaptability: Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Training: Positive Handling or Team Teach training is desirable but not required-what matters most is a proactive attitude and a commitment to professional growth.
