Social Work Assistant
We are recruiting a Social Work Assistant at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 HoursContract Type: Full Time/Fixed Term until 31-06-2026
Location: Ty Gradffa - Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Community Resource Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £29,269 - £32,076 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The Community Resource Team (CRT) is a large multi-disciplinary team which incorporates Hospital Discharge, Community Physio/ Falls, Brokerage and the Home Assistance and Reablement Team (HART).
The remit of the team is to prevent unnecessary admissions to hospital and facilitate early discharge from hospital where possible.
The successful applicant would ideally have some experience of working within adult social care and skills within the areas of collaborative communication, the principles of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act and completing integrated assessments.The role will be supported by Social Workers and Senior Practitioner Social Workers within the team with their cases.
The Social Work Assistant is expected to assist their Social Work colleagues at times of increased demand and pressure. There is a supportive management team in place with a culture of continual learning, development and improvement for both the individual and the service
For the role, we ask that you have:
A Level 2 qualification/s on the Credit and Qualification Framework for Wales. For example O Levels Grade A*-C, NVQ Level 2 in Care.Experience of working in a Social Services/Health setting.
A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit clients at their home, attend meetings in various locations.
