Identify carer representatives who are willing to be involved in secure services projects/groups/meetings and keep details of the carer/carer representatives on a Trust database. Support the development of delivering training programmes with a range of carers Identify strategies and ways of working that bring forward the views of carers and service users that are traditionally marginalised, and that represent a diverse range of communities.
Advice and work with the locality to develop a plan for carer and service user involvement, this may involve collating information and/or informing the locality. Work with the locality and their staff to develop best practice in carer and carer involvement and embed this as part of the mainstream practice.
This will include delivering carer and carer involvement training to staff, advising and working with staff to measure the outcomes of these initiatives e.g. carer/carer evaluation tools. Participate in Trust wide groups, initiatives and activities to bring forward carers and carers perspectives; this will include giving presentations.
Link in with other locality Involvement Coordinators and the Trusts Patient Experience team to ensure consistency around carer/carer involvement across the Trust. Contribute to or deliver the facilitation, chairing and organizing of meetings, events and conferences to support carer/carer involvement or related initiatives.
Contribute to developing and implementing a locality mechanism for involving carers and carers. Link with external and independent carer/carer networks and carer/carer colleagues so that the Trust develops and benefits from good relationships and partnerships with those who offer independent scrutiny, challenge and support for MH services and the Trust Link with local Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations, Mental Health workers in the voluntary sector and LINks (Local Involvement Networks) so that the Trust develops and benefits from good relationships and partnerships with other providers, advocacy services and organisations able to offer independent scrutiny, challenge and support for MH services and the Trust Identify and work with community and faith organisations that can support carer/carer involvement in the Trust from communities or carers traditionally excluded including black and minority ethnic communities, children and young people and homeless people.

Link and support carer/carer relationships with commissioners and bring a carer/carer perspective to joint work
