Logistics Controller

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Logistics Controller to oversee and optimise international and domestic supply chain operations. This role requires a solid understanding of international logistics, including import/export regulations, customs procedures, and global transportation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select and onboard logistics partners, negotiate contracts, and manage KPIs to optimise operations.
  • Plan and monitor transformer deliveries to/from UK ports, sites, and storage facilities.
  • Supervise logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.
  • Research and develop optimal shipping techniques, routes, and carriers.
  • Integrate logistics into company procedures, operations, and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and customs procedures, including HS code allocation.
  • Update and evaluate KPIs to optimise performance and drive efficiency.
  • Manage shipment and customs activities for import services.
  • Identify and eliminate logistics obstacles to ensure safe and timely operations.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for logistics activities.
  • Communicate cost changes, shipment issues, and supply concerns to the team promptly.
  • Optimise transportation methods and consolidate shipments to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Manage and develop relationships with third-party logistics partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop contingency plans for potential supply chain disruptions.
  • Set up and maintain schedules for inbound and outbound shipments.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in international logistics management with a focus on optimising processes, reducing costs, and improving service levels.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices.
