We are looking to recruit a healthcare assistant to join our Adult Community Nursing Service in Oldham. The role will be to support the the delivery of essential District Nursing services in Oldham, supporting the registered nurses to deliver high quality care in to patients in their their own home and in other community settings.

Main duties of the job
  • To provide care to patients, their families, and carers, carrying out delegated clinical and therapeutic tasks, promoting the physical, mental and emotional health to individuals and client groups in their own home or in a designated treatment room setting.
  • To work as an effective member of the Adult Community Nursing Team

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or a Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship - or equivalent experience
  • Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D-G)
  • Care Certificate

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working as a Care Support Worker or equivalent in a Health or Social care setting
  • Experience of working within a team
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrates an interest or previous experience in supporting other health care staff and learners
  • Commitment to undertaking continuous professional development (CPD)

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Good communication (written and verbal skills)
  • Basic IT skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to travel to different geographical locations across the Trust footprint in line with service needs
Desirable criteria
  • Full UK driving license with willingness to use own car for work purposes
