Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a highly motivated passionate ACC Clinical Coder to join our Coding Team on our journey to excellence.
The successful candidate should be motivated and enthusiastic, have strong interpersonal skills, extensive knowledge of clinical coding rules and conventions, as well as in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology and medical terminology. The post holder will need to have extensive NHS cross-speciality clinical coding knowledge and skills.
If you currently don’t have your ACC but have 2 years + of NHS cross speciality Coding experience and are interested in joining our team we would be happy to work with you and our qualified Trainer will support you to work towards attaining your NCCQ.
As a team, we offer a completely flexible approach to working. This includes weekdays, evenings, and weekends to suit individual personal commitments and a healthy work/life balance. The Trust currently has paper medical records moving towards EPR and is able to offer 1 day per week working from home with the potential to increase in the near future.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Experience in trainer/auditor role
- Development of formal Training / Audit programmes within an Acute trust
- Delivering training to a variety of audiences, including clinical coding and medical staff
- Developing bespoke training packages to meet individual coder requirements
- Ability to undertake internal and external clinical coding audits
- Developing/mentoring trainee clinical-coding staff
- Extensive experience of PAS/hospital systems
- National clinical coding standards and practices
- National & local performance/quality standards
- Anatomy and physiology
- ICD10, OPCS4 and HRG4
- Information Governance Toolkit standards
- Budget management
Skills
Essential criteria- Ability to deliver training and awareness sessions to all levels of staff
