Opkill Pest Control Limited are a successful growing business within the Midlands, South West and Northern England, and now the USA.
A new and exciting opportunity has been made available for a seasonal pest control technician (July-Sept) to join our growing team, for anyone looking at joining the industry.
This is initially a temporary role but with the option for the successful candidate to become a permanent member of the team at the end of the 3-4 month period. Experience not needed but prefered, but a must do attitude, and a desire to help your customers is key.
To learn and be involved in a career path in control working on our domestic and commercial contracts.
We require people who have the right attitude to be flexible, go that extra little for customers and the business, conscientious, organised and innovative.
This is the perfect opportunity for anyone within the industry or wishing to enter the industry, as full training will be provided, up to RSPH L2 (if permanent).
The area of work will mainly be between Worcester to Lichfield, depending on daily needs.
You'll use chemicals and equipment to deal with an array of insects and animals such as rats, mice, foxes, moles and birds. You could work anywhere from people’s homes to restaurants, sewers, warehouses or farms.
Your day-to-day duties may include:
investigating and identifying pestsfinding out how pests are getting in
choosing a method of control
spraying chemicals to get rid of insects
laying poison and traps or using air guns to control birds and animals
repairing an area to stop pests returning
advising people how to prevent further problems
completing reports and keeping records
handling and storing chemicals
getting rid of dead or captured animals
You'll need:

full, clean driving licence
confidence with maths for calculating doses of chemicals
practical skills to investigate problems
knowledge of health and safety
knowledge of how chemicals affect the environment
Your normal working day is Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5.00pm, although during the summer, out of hours work is common and offered.
You'll often work alone, driving to jobs in a van.
You could work indoors or outside. You may need to crawl into confined spaces or climb ladders so need to be proficient with heights.

Expectations of OTE £28k+ (pro-rata) in first year including commission, bonus and overtime.
