As an SLD and Complex Needs Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our students' academic, emotional, and social development. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and families, you will help to deliver personalized learning plans and provide care for students with a range of additional needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical conditions.- Support students with SLD and complex needs in their daily learning activities.
- Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide personal care and support where necessary, including feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance.
- Use specialist resources and strategies to engage students in their learning.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including therapists and healthcare professionals.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and carers.

Essential Skills and Experience:- Previous experience working with children or young people with SLD and complex needs, ideally in an SEN setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain patient and adaptable in challenging situations.
- A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting learners.
- Basic knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
- Qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support (e.g. , CACHE Level 3, NVQ, or equivalent).
- Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods.
- Knowledge of specialist techniques such as sensory integration or physiotherapy exercises
