Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
  • Keeping the standard and cleanliness of the surgery and accommodation for which you are responsible, reporting any deficiencies and following all local policies and protocols.

  • use checks of dental equipment reporting defects in accordance with current equipment care policies.

Ensuring adequate stocks of consumable dental materials are available within the surgery, maintain an effective expiry list ensuring all expired materials are removed and replaced as required.

Casting, trimming and preparing dental models, dispatching all items of laboratory work in accordance with current Infection Prevention and Control, Infection Prevention and Control policy and administrative procedures.
There are no expected Line Management responsibilities with this role, any future changes will be discussed with successful applicant at the time.

Selection Process The selection at sift stage will be based on your Curriculum Vitae, and at interview, you will be tested against the following NHS Technical Skills: NHS Core
  • NHSC1 Communication NHS Core
  • NHSC2 Personal and People Development NHS Core
  • NHSC3 Health, Safety and Security NHS Core
  • NHSC5 Quality NHS Core
  • NHSC6 Equality and Diversity The sift will be completed within 5 working days of the vacancy closing date.

Interviews will be held on a date to be confirmed.

Feedback will only be provided if you attend an interview or assessment.
There will be no reimbursement for any travel expenses for the interview.
All employees joining Ministry of Defence who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a 6-month probation period (unless otherwise advised) effective from the employment start date.
Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed.
The level of security needed is security check.

Applicants who hold the qualifications but are not yet registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) and those approaching graduation are eligible to apply for this role, however they will need to obtain the full qualification and membership requirements prior to starting in post.
