AAT Assistant Accountant Apprentice (Apprenticeship)
Job duties include:
Completion of VAT Returns.Using quickbooks software, and excel.
Preparation of accounts and tax returns for sole traders partnerships and limited companies using Capium Software.
Completion of monthly CIS Returns, using Capium Software.
Completion of weekly and monthly payrolls for clients.
TrainingProfessional Diploma - AAT Level 4
Professional is the final level, teaching you more complex accounting theory, and lets you choose two specialist subjects. You’ll learn about budgeting, management accounting, preparing financial statements, accounting systems, and tax.This level builds on the knowledge you gained in the Advanced Diploma (Level 3). After qualifying you can work in accounting roles or progress onto studying chartered accountancy.
The course is made up of three mandatory units (also known as subjects), one synoptic unit, and five optional units. You must pass all the mandatory assessments, synoptic assessment, and two optional unit assessments to achieve the qualification.

The Apprenticeship standard details the essential Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours that somebody would need to demonstrate to be successful in this job role, this includes, Business Awareness, Ethics, Communication, Leadership, Planning and Prioritisation and Problem Solving.Apprentices will need to show they are competent in all the areas detailed in the standard when they take End Point Assessment.
The Knowledge areas of the standard will typically be covered through completion of the qualification. Skills and Behaviours are developed through workshops, e-learning, workplace training and practical experience provided ‘on-the-job’.
Qualifications required
Level 3 AAT.2 A Levels or equivalent BTEC.
GCSE's grades 9/A* - 6/B.
Skills required
Good IT Skills.Knowledge of payroll.
Experienced in completing VAT returns.
Working knowledge of QuickBooks bank reconciliations, and bookkeeping.
Experienced in the completion of sole trader and partnership accounts and tax returns.
Prospects
Opportunities to progress to ACCA qualifications with study support, future progression opportunities include completion of annual accounts for our larger company clients, completion of Capital Gains Tax returns for rental properties.
