SEMH Teacher - English and Geography
The ideal candidate is a holds Qualified Teacher Status and specialises in English and/or Geography – but is confident delivering teaching in both subjects – and has experience of working with pupils with SEMH, ASD and ADHD.
Your new school
This Ofsted rated 'Good' school provides a holistic, alternative education for young people aged 11-17 who haven't been able to progress in traditional settings. The school is situated on an 8-acre small-holding between Leicester and Hinckley and operates as a traditional farm with animals including horses, donkeys and rabbits.Pupils benefit from a therapeutic approach which allows them to grow, mature and achieve their potential - supported by a team of specialist SEN practitioners.
Your new role
This is a temporary-to-permanent, full-time job to start in September 2025. You’ll teach English and Geography to secondary aged pupils and work with like-minded practitioners to deliver a holistic, therapeutic education. What you need to succeed
To succeed in your new job, you’ll hold Qualified Teacher Status with a specialism in either English or Geography and the confidence to teach both! You’re someone who loves taking on a challenge and you enjoy adapting to new situations. You’ll have excellent SEND knowledge with experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, Autism Spectrum Conditions and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.Most importantly, you’ll be confident stepping into a new school and ready to support pupils with a range of needs.
