We’re on the lookout for a skilled and motivated individual to join our Plant Maintenance and Facilities Team at Heaton TrainCare Centre. If you’re a mechanical or electrical expert with a passion for troubleshooting and keeping things running smoothly, this could be your next exciting challenge!

Do you take pride in:

Problem Solving: Diagnosing and fixing issues quickly to keep our equipment running at top performance. Conducting fault finding and root cause analysis to keep machinery at peak performance.

Teamwork: Collaborating with colleagues across the TrainCare Centre to maintain safety and efficiency at the highest levels.
Hands-on Work: Performing regular services, maintenance, and repairs to ensure our plant machinery is always in top shape. From regular maintenance to emergency repairs, no two days will be the same.
Safety Focus: Making sure all work is done safely and adhering to rules and regulations, while supporting the team in achieving daily targets.
Development: Opportunities to learn and grow as we develop new skill sets across our engineering team.

Are you:

Technically Skilled? You have a Level 3 NVQ or a recognised apprenticeship in Engineering, and strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Adaptable and Resilient? You thrive under pressure, handling emergency repairs and unexpected challenges with ease.
Self-Motivated? You’re ready to take the initiative and ensure equipment is available and operational for all team members.

Flexible? You’re able to work extended shifts if required, including weekends, and Bank Holidays.

Please note this role is safety critical and is subject to Rail Safety & Standards Board (RSSB) regulations. You MUST meet the following criteria for this position, or your application will be automatically rejected:

Currently live within a 45-minute car journey from the station you work from.
Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
Pass the safety critical medical assessment, including drugs and alcohol screening.
Not have defective colour vision.
