[ref. q38498900] Educational Mental Health Practitioner - Dunstable | East London NHS Foundation Trust

apartmentEast London NHS Foundation Trust placeDunstable calendar_month

The new Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) role is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England focussing on a whole school approach.

The Mental Health Support Teams are part of a wider integrated schools pathway service in the localities, where the team are working to reduce health inequalities in communities where these are most prominent, working closely with the schools and other external partners addressing their most prominent needs, by implementing whole schools approaches and targeted interventions.

Bedfordshire is a very diverse locality, with high levels of the young population having English as an additional language. You would be joining a comprehensive and dynamic CAMHS service, delivering a substantial stepped model of care following the needs-led Thrive framework.

The post holder will play a key role as members of the new Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs), who will have the responsibility for delivering schools' overarching approach to providing mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.

The role will help to develop and deliver a wide range of interventions, projects and system change with the aim of whole school and whole community approaches to supporting young peoples mental health.

You will be part of a very comprehensive stepped care model of delivery by CAMHS ELFT services in the county, and be an integral part of a thriving and substantive specialist multi-disciplinary service offer.

Please see the attached job description for further information. For informal visits/conversations please contact Chommy - chioma.dafipaku1@nhs.net (Operational Lead Dunstable MHST).
