Overview:

Our Data and Analytics function is the heartbeat of our business, representing the customer across all corners of the Screwfix organisation. A combination of quantitative and qualitative disciplines, we use both traditional research based practices, as well as leverage a market-leading customer database with a richness of insight within.
Excitingly. the team heavily influence short term trading, as well as long term planning, meaning each day can be very different. On one day you could be delving into customer behaviours from the prior week, and the next day looking at macro trends and customer expectations as part of the 3 year planning process.

The team are a balance of analysts and story tellers, recognising the need to bring data and insight to life to successfully influence the business. The goal is to proactively influence the future of Screwfix, helping us continuously make good decisions and drive performance.

In this exciting role, you'll delve into data analysis and create detailed reports and dashboards, providing critical insights that empower our stakeholders to drive business success and enhance customer experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analysis into customer behaviour, purchasing patterns, and sales data to identify trends, opportunities and actionable insights to inform decision making to enhance commercial decision making and drive business performance.
  • Analyse and track the performance of marketing campaigns and provide insights for improvement.
  • Translate complex data into an understandable and actionable format through engaging reports and dashboards that communicate key findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Utilise SQL to extract, analyse and interpret customer data from various sources to identify key trends, behaviours and insights.
  • Create visually compelling reports and PowerBI dashboards that communicate customers insights to stakeholders, helping them make data-driven decisions.
  • Undertake statistical analysis including the use of control groups and hypothesis testing
  • Manage a portfolio of analytics work, prioritising as required to deliver effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align customer insights with business objectives and to drive customer-centric strategies and decisions.
  • Create strong relationships with key stakeholders in the business, for example our CRM, Commercial and Marketing teams.
  • Stay updated with the latest analytical tools and methodologies to enhance the quality of insights.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in customer data/analytics, ideally within the retail industry.
  • Strong expertise in data analysis and use of Excel
  • Experience in data visualisation and storytelling – able to communicate in a straightforward and visually engaging manner, creating a compelling narrative.
  • Experience of analytical tools such as SQL, Python, R.
  • Experience of data visualisation platforms (e.g. Tableau or Power BI).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly in writing.
  • Excellent attention to detail, focused on accuracy and integrity of work.
