Role Overview:

Genus PLC has an exciting new opportunity for you to join our business as the Director of Technology and Architecture.

This is a pivotal leadership role that reports directly to the Group CIO. This position is designed for a visionary leader who will define and execute the technological strategies that align with Genus' ambitious business goals.

You will be instrumental in driving the adoption of emerging technologies such as Generative AI, IoT, machine learning, and data analytics to propel innovation and optimise our operations.

As the Director of Technology and Architecture, you will collaborate with global business leaders to shape the technology landscape that underpins our industryleading solutions.

Your role will encompass strategic planning, operational efficiency, and futureproofing our technology infrastructure to ensure Genus remains at the forefront of the biotechnology sector.

Hybrid working - you will mainly be remote, however at least monthly visits to our Stapeley office will be required

You Will:

  • Strategic Alignment and Business Growth:
  • Forge strong relationships with business and technology leaders to influence business strategy and advocate for the integration of advanced technologies.
  • Spearhead innovation initiatives, focusing on the adoption of Generative AI, process automation, and enhanced user experiences.
  • Develop and implement a robust architectural strategy that aligns with Genus' business objectives, driving growth and technological advancement.
  • Futureproofing and Scalability:
  • Ensure that technology and data platforms are scalable and adaptable, supporting the dynamic nature of our global business.
  • Introduce and integrate modern technologies to enhance customer and internal solutions, positioning Genus as a leader in biotech innovation.
  • Operational Efficiency:
  • Optimise the current technology landscape to increase agility and resilience over the next 2-3 years.
  • Design and implement architectures that enable seamless integration and provide a solid foundation for ongoing technological evolution.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in technology and architectural leadership roles, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful technology strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience working with global business leaders to shape and implement solutions that drive business success.
  • Extensive experience in establishing application and data strategies, integration platforms, and scalable architectures in a global context.
  • Proven ability to shape enterprise software strategies that align with business goals, enhancing application scalability, performance, and user experience.
  • A results-driven approach focused on innovation, operational efficiency, and strategic foresight in preparing for future technological trends.
  • Experience in establishing and maturing architecture functions across business, application, and data domains.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft technologies and strategy would be advantageous.
