Risk and Controls Manager - JP Morgan - Bournemouth - Hybrid

We are seeking a Risk and Controls Manager to join our client JP Morgan on a consultancy basis via Robert Walters in London.
As a Risk and Controls Manager within CIB Payments Technology /Payments Platforms at JP Morgan, you will drive the successful delivery of technology projects and programs that will help reaching business goals across the firm. Leveraging your knowledge of technical principles, practices, and theories is essential for developing innovative solutions, while simultaneously effectively managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams.
Your analytical reasoning and adaptability skills will enable you to navigate through ambiguity and change, ensuring that technology initiatives align with business goals. With good communication and stakeholder management abilities, you will foster productive working relationships and influence decision-making to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
Job responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, incorporating technical requirements, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure on-time delivery of technology solutions
  • Identify and mitigate risks, proactively addressing potential roadblocks and implementing contingency plans to maintain project and program momentum
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and business stakeholders, to define program scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with overall business goals
  • Identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven optimizations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Proactively monitor Key Risk Indicators to identify non-compliance and assist in remediation with controls to address security, risk, and control gaps
  • Proactively monitor and evaluate control effectiveness, identify gaps, and recommend enhancements to strengthen risk posture and regulatory compliance.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience in stakeholder management, with the ability to establish productive working relationships and influence decision-making across cross-functional teams and clients
  • Proven track record of effectively managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying analytical reasoning and problem-solving techniques to break down business, technical, or operational objectives into manageable tasks and activities
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks, industry standards, and financial industry regulatory requirements
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience in Technology and preferably within the finance sector
  • Experience in, or working with: Audit, Compliance, Operational Risk and/or Control Management at a large, complex banking organization is highly desirable.

*Please note that this role will be working on a hybrid model of 3 days office based and up to 2 days work from home. You'll require your own device when wfh.*

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year

Additional pay:

  • Bonus scheme
