We are looking for a self – motivated individual to join our Purchasing and Distribution Team. We are a dynamic and fast paced team who are dedicated to distribution of medications to patients across the hospital. The Purchasing & Distribution are a team within our Pharmacy department are responsible for supporting the Trust with issuing medication to wards and onsite areas.
Applicants should thrive in a fast-paced environment, display the Trust values, be highly motivated, flexible and have a positive attitude; with an enthusiasm to develop their skills and support an ever-evolving team. You should be able to work as part of a team but also be able to demonstrate initiative and work in a professional and timely manner.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our team. The post holder will be involved in a broad range of activities in the Purchasing and Distribution area of the Pharmacy Department. Duties will include assisting with stock management, over labelling and pre packing of medications, supporting the delivery of medications to wards and departments , unpacking and checking medications from external suppliers and participating in ward stock supplies.
You should be able to work as part of a team but also be able to demonstrate initiative and work in a professional and timely manner. Applicants must have a good general standard of education.
The role requires you to have a current right to work in the UK, which enables you to undertake the role without need of sponsorship. Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria- Good general standard of education demonstrating numeracy and literacy
- Willing to complete a comprehensive training and competency programme.
- Willing to complete Level 2 qualification in Pharmacy Services.
- Level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Demonstrate ability to work effectively as part of a team both alone and under supervision.
- Able to work effectively under pressure
- Computer literate
- Basic knowledge of stock control / stock rotation
- Previous experience of working in a pharmacy
- Previous experience of working in a healthcare environment
- Previous experience of working face to face with customers / patients
