Our client is an award winning building design consultancy. They are currently looking for a Principal Structural Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This role will be based at their Northallerton site on a hybrid basis.
As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will be an integral part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team that includes Architects, Building Surveyors, Civil Engineers, M&E Engineers, and Quantity Surveyors.

About the Principal Structural EngineerYou will be responsible for managing an increasing project workload and delivering high-quality structural designs.
Other responsibilities of the Principal Structural Engineer will include:Collaborate with the multi-discipline design team to develop structural designs that meet client aspirations and are constructible.
Produce conceptual and detailed superstructure designs for a diverse range of clients across various sectors.
Develop efficient and cost-effective substructure solutions for challenging sites.
Respond to site queries, review fabrication details, visit sites, attend meetings, and monitor construction activities as required.
Liaise with the 'in-house' design team and external parties to ensure practical and cost-effective solutions are utilised.
Undertake technical design reviews and lead projects.
About You - Principal Structural Engineer
As Principal Structural Engineer, you will have a degree in civil/structural engineering or equivalent, along with experience within an engineering consultancy.
Other requirements include:
Proficient in preparing detailed designs and specifications using first principles hand calculations, AutoCAD, TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer software, or similar.Excellent knowledge of relevant UK and European codes of practice in reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and timber.
Ability to independently carry out surveys and reports.
IT literacy with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
