Headteacher at Malawi's longest established International Primary School
We have a diverse teaching faculty.
Our curriculum is based on the British National Curriculum, but it has been developed to be far more contextualised to our setting here in Africa. Currently, the school has approximately 250 students from Toddler Class at 14 months, up to Year 6.
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding educational leader to take our school forward through the next stage of our development. This is a fixed three-year contract, commencing September 2025, renewable based on performance and availability of funds.The role holder will report to the Board of Governors.
Responsibilities
As Headteacher, you will be responsible for:
Delivery of the school’s strategy in liaison with the Board
Providing visionary leadership to inspire and motivate staff and students
Ensuring the delivery of high-quality learning and development of the students and maintaining academic excellence
Managing the school's resources (finances, human resources, general assets) effectively
Lead staff performance management processes and career development
Fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders (e.g. parents, Board, staff, students, the local community, service providers)
Promoting the school's values and ethos
Possesses a deep understanding of international education and the British National Curriculum
Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Is passionate about creating and fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Required Qualifications and experience
Master’s degree in Education/Educational Leadership
A first degree in Education or a non-education degree with a PGCE
A minimum of 10 years’ teaching experience, with at least 5 years as Head Teacher
Has experience in financial and operational management within an educational setting.
Experience in leading an international school
Experience of delivering the British National Curriculum
