As an Infrastructure Engineer at Dorset HealthCare University Foundation NHS Trust, you will be responsible for supporting staff by ensuring that our service users needs are met through the support and development of the Trusts core Infrastructure.

The role is flexible with hybrid working available and many opportunities to develop to skills and learn new knowledge for the correct candidate

This is a technical role where you will be working as part of the Infrastructure Team to implement, operate and maintain a range of internal and hosted systems with a focus on Virtual Infrastructure services. The correct candidate will have experience in providing infrastrucure support and or 3rd line level support, provide periodic out of hours support and be able to travel between sites.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

The main duties as an IT Infrastructure Engineer at Dorset HelathCare include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting in the implementation of digital innovative solutions throughout the entire process from design to project completion and ongoing support.
  • Actively participating in developing and supporting the trusts core server infrastructure system to meet the needs of our services and external users.
  • Deliver a high standard of server and virtual platform support and communication whilst supporting incidents reported by users within the agreed timescales whilst following the trusts processes and monitoring the escalation points.
  • Work with 3rd party technical teams to help deliver projects which aim to meet to trusts digital strategy.
  • Focus on identifying issues with the trusts core server and virtual infrastructure.
  • Encourage a culture of maintaining the importance of cyber security through maintaining an up-to-date environment and following requirements from the trust, including change management and reporting of risks.
  • Take responsibility of the creation and of concise, accurate and updated documentation and records relating to all systems.

You will be given the opportunity to build on and develop your own technical skills.
