An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to undertake the role of Clerical Officer/Receptionist within our Child Development Centre. As a member of the administration team you will ensure a high quality reception and efficient administration service is provided to patients/staff & visitors.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Main duties of the job

To participate in the provision of a welcoming and confidential reception service to clients, staff and visitors.

To participate in the provision of an efficient clerical support service to clinical and managerial staff.

To provide reception duties for staff and patients, taking calls & tasking staff as appropriate.

To effectively support room bookings.

To deal with requests, incoming calls and enquiries and forward onto the relevant personnel as appropriate.

To book and notify patients of appointments.

To ensure that manual and electronic records are maintained and up to date, including scanning of documents into health records.

To ensure security of the building, ensuring effective staff signing in lists and linking to health & safety.

You will be required to have good written and verbal communication skills as the role entails liaising with staff, clients and other agencies at all levels.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay or skill level required for a Skilled worker visa. Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change.   • Minimum OCR/RSA II typing/word processing or equivalent
