What skills and experience we're looking for

This is an exciting opportunity to join OHC&AT as a Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability Coordinator, playing a key role in supporting the health and safety team to deliver efficient and compliant services across the organisation. You will assist in streamlining operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety and sustainability.

Your responsibilities will include managing health and safety systems, overseeing risk management, coordinating external audits and supporting the development and maintenance of training programs.

This is a hands-on position, and the successful candidate will need to develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including site Premises Officers, Principals, senior managers and external partners, to ensure smooth operations and effective safety management.

You will be responsible for the accurate management of health and safety data, generating reports, tracking audit actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Ideal for someone seeking to grow within the health and safety field, this role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact, promoting a proactive safety culture, managing risk and ensuring high standards of health and safety and sustainability are maintained across OHC&AT.

The right person for this role will have:

  • A solid understanding of health and safety legislation, risk assessment processes, and incident management techniques.
  • Proven experience in supporting health and safety systems and compliance activities.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
  • Proficiency in using health and safety software systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • A NEBOSH qualification or willingness to pursue one, with experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational or similar setting.
