Reporting to the Head of Assessment, this role is responsible for providing subject matter expertise to shape and guide our internal promotion and external hire leadership assessment approach as well as more broadly supporting the standardisation and quality of our assessment practices across all levels.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains the quality, suitability and inclusiveness of the UK firm's psychometric assessment suite used for Director and Partner hiring and promotions, including leading validation and improvement activities, and ensuring applicants and decision-makers understand and apply insights for maximum value.
  • Guides and upskills hiring managers, recruiters, schedulers and talent team colleagues to fully embed leadership‑level assessment materials and processes for Senior Manager, Director and Partner roles, ensuring all stakeholders understand assessment requirements, have easy access to up‑to‑date materials (via repositories) and can confidently apply the solutions.
  • Monitors compliance with assessment practice, including use of materials, process adherence and quality of evaluation (e.g. feedback notes) and makes recommendations for improvement where necessary.
  • Completes review and evaluation work to assess the impact and value of leadership assessment practices and materials, reporting on trends and findings with recommendations and actions for continuous improvement to products, processes and related assessment services.
  • Makes recommendations to Talent leadership on strategies to build assessment capability among Senior Manager, Director, Partner and HR decision makers, enhancing standards of leadership assessment.
  • Shares important research, insights and thought leadership on leading assessment practice and innovation in focus area, sharing these with the Assessment CoE Team, Talent leadership, Executive Hiring Teams and relevant resourcing and business stakeholders for broader discussion.
  • Creates business buy‑in for new leadership assessment solutions and enhancements, fully scoping the work and deciding the most suitable resources to deliver (gig team member, supplier or self).
  • Maintains applicant/candidate preparation guidance and resources for internal and external applicants relevant to leadership assessment so people feel supported and able to perform at their best.
Broader COE Support
  • Works with the Professional Hire Assessment Manager to oversee a clear programme of work that ensures effective maintenance and ongoing improvement of experienced hire and leadership assessment repositories (including interview guides, case studies, business challenges, ability tests and technical assessments), ensuring repository structure meets business needs and assessment requirements and requirements for new/growth areas and skills are met.
  • Works with the Professional Hire Assessment Manager to manage governance of assessment repositories and SOPs: briefing recruiters and schedulers, monitoring compliance, addressing non‑compliance and supervising responses to inbound assessment customisation requests.
  • Acts as an assessment SME escalation point for complex reasonable adjustment cases, working closely with the Reasonable Adjustments Manager and legal teams (ER and OGC) where required to identify and implement effective solutions that balance candidate and business needs, meet legal obligations and uphold our public commitment as a Disability Confidence employer.
  • Deputises for the Head of Assessment, during periods of absence/ when needed, and direct responsibility for managing specific budgets relevant to area of work.
  • Supports more broadly with assessment projects, based on the CoE book of work.
Connect to your skills and professional experience
  • Deep subject‑matter expertise in leadership, with considerable experience in shaping assessment approaches in consultation with business stakeholders and designing and implementing large‑scale leadership assessment programs in a multi‑disciplinary, high‑volume professional environment.
  • Qualified user of psychometric products with expertise in how behavioural psychometric tests are designed and validated.
  • Broad knowledge of leadership‑assessment products, their applications and benefits.
  • Some experience in statistical analysis methods relevant to assessment and selection.
  • Preferably a business/occupational psychology or related discipline (human resources, organisational behavior)
  • Strong internal and external consulting, influencing and stakeholder‑management skills, underpinned by excellent interpersonal and communication abilities (verbal, written and presentation).
  • Experienced in supplier management and implementing controls to ensure quality and delivery
